Transportation Research Engineer

Computer Scientist

These positions are to be filled in order to conduct a research project on the use of vehicular platoons and vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) in the Federal Highway Administration’s Transportation Analysis and Simulation System (TRANSIMS)

Educational Requirements:

Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics

Or

M.S. with 5 years of practical Research and Development work experience

Skill Set Desired:

Four-Step Transportation Modeling

Microsimulation

Intelligent Transportation Systems

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

Data Mining

Statistical Analysis

Development Tools:

· Object Oriented Development using C++

· Matlab
